GET TO KNOW THE CLUB
History
The beginnings of Promesas del Norte date back to 2012, when a group of friends got together to play a tournament in Arteixo (A Coruña).
Roberto Aldeiturriaga and his family started an adventure for fun, which they never imagined would grow to such a point as it has. In this tournament the team is proclaimed runner-up. Although without a doubt, the main objective was more than met,
enjoying in a family atmosphere among players, fathers, mothers and rivals.
That enjoyment was, perhaps, the reason why the idea was taken, that same summer, to the Donosti Cup, to play a more prestigious tournament without losing sight of the main objective with which the team had been created that season. former.
The team stays and lives together in a rural house. The bonds created in that coexistence, along with the families who helped transport the players to the fields, were the germ of what is today Promesas del Norte.
And here Susana appears on the scene, a fundamental part of the project, always having everything ready and finding a solution to each problem created. That philosophy of facing life endures today and is, without a doubt, one of the keys to the success of this project. The team placed 3rd in the tournament, guided by a tireless and faithful cheerleader like Selena, also an important part of the Club's growth, and the basis of the future songs that would appear for the team.
The classification and the level shown by the team meant that, the following year (2013), recruitment was opened to the entire province of Castilla y León. The Promesas Family grew, without losing the values of its creation. A championship confirmed and ratified the project, although it did so with greater force than the satisfaction of a summer experience in which everyone is important both on and off the playing fields.
As a result of these bonds full of good times, the fathers, mothers and brothers of our winners make a request to create more teams to compete in different categories. This series of ties makes the project expand throughout Spain, welcoming boys and girls from all over the national territory to enjoy our experience, always marked by the initial values with which the Club was created.
In the following years, Promesas del Norte travels to different tournaments in the national territory, with an increasingly larger family that filled, fills and will fill our hearts with pride. In addition to victories in the different categories, we fondly cherish different steps taken, such as the creation of a junior team (children aged 8 and 9), as well as the creation of the women's section in 2017 (with victory included). The Donosti Cup, the Costa Blanca Cup and the Ibercup are tournaments that we already have in our record.
It was a year before, from 2016 and until now, where the incorporation of “Mister” Alberto gave the Club an improvement at a sporting and methodological level, which led to the next step: the union through a collaboration agreement with an EE school. .UU to continue growing and contributing our experience in other contexts, also taking advantage of the cultural and language exchange to further enrich the experience of the entire “Promesas” family. Players and players have participated with our Club exponentially since 2019. Adriano is the president of Culture FC. and its similarity with our values have caused synergies to increase. And added to this was also the signing of two players from Nigeria who gave the youth team an important leap in quality: Eboka and Hassane.
It was on that first trip of 2019 where we met our honorary president Cristine and her entire family, who, leaving the unfortunate break of Covid-19 in the way, have allowed us to jump the pond and travel to Hawaii to hold our first campus abroad .
In this last summer of 2023, our last participation in the Ibercup took place, also coinciding with the first post-pandemic participation. Although 2 new titles were added to the record (B12 and G16), we are much more proud of the coexistence between different cultures, without losing sight of the fact that the promise is not a Club, but a family.
The adventure continues in 2024 with many projects full of enthusiasm, which would not be possible since our beginnings without each and every one of the people who have been part of our staff, to whom we heartily thank all the energy they have put into making it possible. Promesas del Norte is today what it is.
TRAJECTORY
During the 13 years of history, the teams that are part of Promesas del Norte have varied in terms of number. In 2012, 2013 and 2014 only one team made up our Club.
In the following years, the Club increased the teams participating in the tournaments exponentially: 2 teams in 2015, 6 teams in 2016, 8 teams in 2017 and 10 teams in 2018, our historical record, reaching around 200 in our project. male and female players, in addition to 30 people from the Staff.
Subsequently, and after a 3-year break due to non-sporting reasons (Covid-19), 7 teams formed our expedition in our last participation in the 2023 tournaments. These teams were made up of about 140 players, and around 25 people from the Staff. .
RECORDS
The Promesas track record is, above all, much broader than we ever imagined and, above all, than we ever intended. Here we leave you a summary, always keeping in mind that it will be a consequence of what is worked on and off the field, the effort that each member puts into the service of others and the values that have been with each member of our team since its inception.
